I aim to entertain and inspire, motivate reluctant readers, plant seeds of information, and hope all students take away something new and exciting.
I'll come to your school or small group organization (in person or via Skype) to give your students a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into researching, writing, and publishing, and my own journey of becoming an author. My presentation and workshops can be modified to fit many age groups.
More than the logistics, however, I'll talk about the importance of story--those we read, write, watch, and live--and how true stories can inspire us to change our world even in the smallest ways. I'll discuss Gloria's childhood, what led her to become one of the world's most famous activists, and what her accomplishments mean for us today. It's important for children to feel heard, and to have a voice, and Gloria's story is inspiration for all ages to never stop
listening, dreaming, and speaking!
Email me for rates and to discuss options for assemblies and workshops to best to fit your students' needs.
Read a post I wrote about GLORIA and my philosophy on books, imagination, and growing up. My own and other children's struggle to be seen and heard is a big inspiration for why I do what I do. I want kids to know they have a voice.
Check it out!
